RPS is the first educational institution in BiH to qualify with Competent Label as part of the STEM School Label project to accredit schools to implement STEM education principles at European level.
After an extensive process of evaluating the work and qualifications of RPS staff, which included an analysis of nearly forty school activities as part of academic and extracurricular activities, our educational staff received a certificate from the STEM School Label Board that certifies RPS as a European school institution that approaches teaching STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and math) in an efficient and innovative way.
The STEM strategy has already been partially implemented in the RPS
By obtaining the Certificate of Competence mark, RPS schools have been determined to continue developing the STEM strategy, some of which have already been achieved. The RPS Teaching Team is now tasked with realizing the Action Plan further and, by executing the instructions, creating the conditions for submitting the application for the next level, which is the accreditation mark within twelve months.
"STEM School Label" significantly contributes to the acquisition of skills and raising the level of competence of educational institutions. Joining the STEM School Label means creating an environment where member schools, together with other schools in different parts of Europe, can share practical experiences, seek guidance and talk with colleagues from other parts of Europe through access to specific content and tools they also find ways to solve them. The schools involved in this project will be evaluated through available tools through clearly defined STEM School criteria.
Over 1100 European schools are involved in the project
About 300 schools from Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Israel, Turkey, Albania, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and other European countries have received this certificate, and Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined as well by RPS obtaining the certificate.
The aim of the project is to better orient European schools towards the best possible affirmation of the STEM group of subjects and to improve the quality of teaching and curricula. The program envisages work on curricula as well as work with students, teaching staff and the local community.
